Tape Syncs and Studio Space
WTJU 91.1 FM and The Virginia Audio Collective strive to foster a supportive and accessible environment that facilitates creative exploration and expression in our community. Therefore, recording spaces are available to VAC members at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you would like to support our efforts and enable us to keep this resource available for free please donate and mention podcasting or VAC in the notes section.
The Virginia Audio Collective is available for tape syncs.
Rates vary depending on the length of the recording, engineering and staff needs, and space needs. Our rates are in line with those published by the Association for Independent Radio Producers. We also maintain a network of professional audio engineers and producers and would be happy to connect you with an engineer for an off-site recording in the greater Charlottesville area.
The studio is equipped with a 1080pi webcam for video calls. While you are welcome to hire a videographer or photographer, VAC is not able to provide professional video-recording services at this time.
To inquire about a tape sync or audio engineering services please email mgm6jm@virginia.edu and include:
Date, time, number of people to be recorded, preferred recording specs, and information about the digital recording software you plan to use (i.e. Zoom, Zencastr, Squadcast, phone call, etc.)
